Artist's Comments

This was actually made by AznReject2 but is in my possession now :) They're not the same type of star from Lucky Liquor [link] though. These are made from long plastic straws and folded to get that nifty spiral design *_* Fascinating. Actually, the straws she bought glow in the dark too, hence, Light of a Thousand Stars. Too bad I haven't the faintest idea how to take a picture of them glowing... sigh. On top of that there may not even be a thousand :P I counted once and came out with 997. I counted 999 later but she had already sent me 3 more replacements. Oh well... Light of 1000-1003 stars.

Very Very nifty.

My guess on how to take a picture of them glowing is to set them all up how you want, then getting a lamp or two and let them sit under the light with the lamp real close to them for a while[ like 5 minutes], then turn out all the lights and take picture! :D It SHOULD work *in theory atleast*

Wow, that's so cool! I love the spiral star design. It must look amazing when they are lit up ^ ^

Oh, I tried that idea many, many times. Makes them quite bright and very pretty but not strong enough for the camera to pick up the image. :(

It's amazing *_* They're originally in a jar that's about a foot tall. It didn't photograph very well though. I have another pic of a different arrangement... didn't like it so much though. If you can, imagine the stars spread out across a surface with the camera at a horizontal angle over the tops of the stars. Parts of it were really blurry though. Perhaps I'll make a scrap of it... who knows.

Is that a hint of glitter I see in the straws? awesome stuff :floating:

Yep, there's a tiny bit of glitter built into the plastic of the straw. That way... it glows at night and sparkles during the day!

Amazing! I saw it and had to make one :)

Heh. I really should follow those diagrams myself and learn it. Maybe later this week.
